Overview

This series of HDMI balun components has an important difference to most HDMI balun products on the market in that it can send signals over ethernet switches, allowing HDMI sources and displays to be connected in an expandable network. It can also be used as a simple point to point extender. Simply connect via Cat5e/6 UTP cable to your switch, router or patch panel and enable the transmission of a single HDMI AV source to multiple receivers up to 120m away. The system offers full HD 1080p transmission without loss of signal quality. It also allows an infra-red signal path back to the source equipment for remote control at the receiver location. Ideal for use in distributed AV systems, shopping & convention centre video signage and other multi-screen environments. HDCP compliant. Power supply included with each unit. Transmitter includes IR emitter. Receiver includes IR target.

A 3147 Smart HDMI Matrix is a managed switch designed for use with this system. For information on incorporating the A 3140 into a Multi-point to Multi-point configuration download the A 3147 manual.

It is recommended that systems utilise a dedicated switch for HDMI transmission rather than connecting to a network already being utilised for data. Whilst the system will operate this way, data network performance will be significantly effected.

  • Fantastic, Awesome, The Best. The A3140, is a wonderful product for such a little price, especially when transmitting over ethernet and wi fi antennas, I have successfully broadcasted HDMI 1080i - 50I via the HDMI Extender Over Ethernet unit, through 10/100/1000 mb switches, to Ubiquity Nanobeam AC wifi antennas ( 450 m/b through Air / 1 GB Lan, capable of 1.2 km distance Line of Sight) at 60 meters distance back to the HDMI Extender Receiver (A3141 Unit) and to a 55 " TV without one skipped frame or Latency (LAG) outputting a high quality image. Worth the price I paid and more. I recommend this product to all who seek a cost effective way to transmit HDMI video either from a camcorder or video device to the desired location. 5 stars.
