Overview

(Silicon Chip Magazine September 05) An ultra-fidelity, low distortion stereo pre-amplifier. So good is the design, it is suitable for use as a Class A amplifier front end. All the inputs are relay switched at the back of the unit, ensuring an absolute minimum of signal distortion and colouration. The state of the art design includes an infra-red remote volume control with mute function and input selection. Front panel controls are soft touch tactile switches for input selection and a motorised volume control. The ultrafidelity headphone amplifier provides exceptional audio performance. The pre-amplifier is supplied with a professionally CNC punched and silk screened chassis. This is the ultimate audiophile DIY pre-amplifier with performance equal or better to commercially available products costing several times the price.

Infra-red volume control utilises Philips RC5 protocol. This remote control code is typically available on most universal remote controls. We recommend the Altronics A 1012 referenced in the instructions for this kit.
