DE9 Male to RJ45 Female
RS232 serial connections support a large variety of connector types. The modular Cat5 RJ45 connector that is employed extensively for Ethernet cabling is also used as a serial data connector by network equipment manufacturers such as Cisco. Cat5 RJ45 serial connections enable the use of straight-through CAT5 or CAT6 patch cables as serial cables when used with a DB9-to-RJ45 converter to connect the Cat 5 patch cable to a PC serial port.
