The Armoured Active Optical HDMI® cable is the ultimate solution for temporary AV setups at live events and functions, where durability is just as important as performance. Unlike traditional optical HDMI® cables - typically designed for fixed installations and prone to failure when repeatedly handled - this rugged cable is built to withstand the demands of constant setup and teardown.
Inside its robust sheathing lies a unique stainless steel reinforcement combined with a Kevlar weave, providing exceptional protection against damage. The plugs themselves are reinforced as well, ensuring the cable can handle the tough conditions of the events industry without compromising signal quality. With this armoured design, you can focus on delivering flawless AV experiences without the worry of fragile cabling letting you down.
At its core, the cable features a premium Silicon Line GmbH chipset, manufactured in Germany, delivering dependable long-term stability and the high-performance connectivity professionals can rely on.
What is AOC HDMI®?
Active Optical Cable HDMI® does exactly the same thing as a standard HDMI cable, with one major difference which is very important for installers. AOC cables allow lossless signal transfer over far greater distances than copper HDMI cables and even HDMI® UTP baluns!
Normal copper HDMI® cables start to lose bandwidth at lengths of 7.5m or more, steadily reducing the quality and even maximum resolution of the cable until eventually at 20m they reach their maximum distance. AOC HDMI® cables use an optical fibre (much like S/PDIF audio) which can be run over distances up to 100m at full 4K @ 60Hz video and lossless digital audio.
