Smart recording function automatically adjusts the video resolution to optimise the recording efficiency. Installations of CCTV systems can vary greatly in configuration and technical complexity. We recommend that unless you have skills in computer networking that you engage a CCTV installer or professional to set up your installation. The process can involve opening router ports, setting up IP routes etc which can be daunting for a beginner. Every installation is different, as a result, it can be difficult to diagnose set up issues over the phone or via email.

  • Hi, just installed a firmware update for AVH308EA and it seems to not work after reboot. How do i revert back to original firmware? Cheers
    Azz Harley

hello. Did you have any problems with the DVR before you attempted the update? Did the system stall on H.264 boot screen on start up or any other anomalous behaviour. If yes, then it is possible, even likely, that you system has been hacked and used as a springboard for other nefarious hacking. You will have to follow this procedure: There has been instances where customer’s DVRs/NVRs may have been hacked if they have not changed the default password or have used a very weak password such as 0000,1111,1234, etc… Hacking will cause the DVR/NVR to shut down and not reboot. A safety feature I would say. Here is some information on firmware updates for the AVTech DVRs/NVRs https://www.evernote.com/shard/s648/sh/fdbf9d23-2e2b-4ab3-af70-843b5823886e/e141384a8887b619401d791fca135db3 https://www.evernote.com/shard/s36/sh/6931bd48-8be5-435c-9773-b2548db1bdb2/083ff9fbdc065dd4 https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jO52sldchMMZkrAdA1e0ljIZmKrUj6pgMiuPFCI0haU/edit#gid=0 Please report back to us if you have any problems.
